Xiamen Stone Fair Postponed to 2021
XIAMEN, China – There won’t be a physical China Xiamen International Stone Fair in 2020.
Organizers of the world’s largest hard-surface event announced today that the next edition will now be in 2021.
Gobal business-travel uncertainty, caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, played a key part in the decision to scratch the event from this year’s calendar.
Originally scheduled in March, the event went through two rescheduled openings. In January, organizers announced dates in early June; in April, the show moved to late October.
“Since the outbreak of the pandemic, we have been making great efforts to prepare for the trade fair postponed to October and striving to present a high-quality event,” according to a statement from show organizers. “However, with the ongoing COVID-19 development and its widespread impact around the world, business travel has been affected due to visa delays, limited flights, compulsory quarantines and other objective reasons.
“Given the situation, it is difficult to maintain the value of Xiamen Stone Fair when the presence of exhibitors and visitors from all over the world cannot be guaranteed.”
A 2021 schedule for the show will be confirmed later.
In the interim, organizers will continue operating the Cloud Xiamen Stone Fair as an online event.
“Xiamen Stone Fair is always standing with our stone community, facing challenges and overcoming difficulties, and will continue its dedication to reviving the stone industry,” the organizers noted.
