Xiamen Stone Fair Delayed Until May
XIAMEN, China – For the second time in three years, the Xiamen stone show in China is being rescheduled from its original dates.
This year’s China Xiamen International Stone Fair – first set for March 16-19 – will be moved to May 5-8 “in light of the recent outbreak of COVID-19” in the country, according to a statement issued today from the show’s organizers.
“We deeply apologize for any inconvenience it may cause,” the statement noted. “No matter what challenges we face, the health and safety of our exhibitors, visitors and partners is always the top priority.”
Organizers took the action, the statement continued, “to abide by the government strict regulations and requirements on large-scale activities.”
The online Cloud Xiamen Stone Fair will continue, and organizers will continue preparations for an in-person show in May.
“Thank you for your understanding and support all along,” the statement added. “Xiamen Stone Fair is always standing with the stone community, facing challenges and overcoming difficulties. We wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.”
In 2020, the Xiamen event, originally scheduled for March, was postponed twice to June and October before being called off.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the Xiamen Stone Fair became the world’s largest event dedicated to hard surfaces. In 2019, the show drew 150,319 professionals from 148 countries.
