Xiamen Event Set for Next May
XIAMEN, China – The China Xiamen International Stone Fair, the first major stone trade event cancelled this year, is coming back next spring.
Show organizers announced today that the 21st edition of the event will be held on May 18-21 at Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center.
“In the year of 2020, Xiamen Stone Fair paused the annual meeting due to COVID-19 pandemic,” according to a statement released by the event. “However, the prevention and control of the pandemic has become a new normal in China that trade shows re-opened gradually in many cities, making a revitalization of market.”
The decision to hold the physical event, the statement noted came “in consultation with exhibitors, visitors and partners.”
The May event will include the World Stone Congress (WSC), Stone Infinite – Product Design Show, and Launch Out @XSF 2021.
Event organizers will also emphasize prevention protocols.
“The health and safety of all exhibitors, visitors and partners is our top priority that Xiamen Stone Fair will make full preparations to ensure a safe and orderly show,” noted the statement.
The event announcement comes as the Chinese government eases the general ban placed earlier this year on foreign nationals flying to the country. Beginning on Nov. 6, visitors – including those from the United States – will be able to take direct flights to China with proof of acceptable COVID-19 tests within 48 hours of boarding the plane.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) currently has China at a Level 3 Warning to avoid nonessential travel.
The 20th annual Xiamen Stone Fair, originally scheduled for March this year, was postponed twice to June and October before being called off.
