Walker Zanger Opens New SE New York Facility
PORT CHESTER, N.Y. – Walker Zanger opened a new tile showroom and slab gallery here to service the surrounding Westchester County and southwestern Connecticut area.
The new location, with a 4,200 ft² showroom and 14,000 ft² slab gallery, replace the stone-and-tile company’s previous location in Mount Vernon, N.Y.
“We are excited to open this new state-of-the-art showroom that is centrally located in Westchester County to serve designers, architects and homeowners in cities such as Greenwich, Rye and Harrison,” said Kim Bernard, Walker Zanger executive director of facilities design.
Marking the company’s 14th showroom, the new facility features upgraded LED lighting, extensive daylighting, and arched ceilings and soffits to give a feeling of greater height and space.
“We opened up a section of the floor at the entry to create a two-story interior space so that the upstairs offices now look onto the downstairs showroom, adding volume and an enhanced sense of arrival for visitors,” said Bernard.
Walker Zanger outgrew its old location, needing more warehouse space for product and higher ceilings to fully accommodate a larger crane – but, with low ceilings, too many offices, and numerous windows, the new Port Chester floor plan came with its own set of challenges. By strategically regrouping the offices, opening up the downstairs space, and adding an additional restroom to the design, the company was able to open up more wall space to extensively display product.
The new showroom is located at 36 Midland Ave. in Port Chester.
