Virtual SmartFair Draws 30,000
LONDON – The third edition of the online SmartFair this spring drew slightly more than 30,000 unique visitors earlier this spring.
After three official days of fair and two weeks of “after fair,” the virtual attendee count of 30,250 online attendees dealt with 300 exhibitors from 19 countries with more than $500 million worth of loaded materials (excluding machinery.
Slightly more than one in five (22%) of the attendees identified as fabricators, according to event organizers. Other large categories of visitors included distributors (19%), importers (16%), consultants (13%) and architects/interior designers (13%).
Organizers had expected to see a consistent drop in terms of visits when compared to previous SmartFairs because of the introduction of an additional security authentication that limited entry to qualified and verified sectors operators. However, the third edition received similar accesses compared to the previous two events.
The third edition introduced an events agenda rich of video content streamed during the three main days of the fair. From webinars to company presentations, interviews, and product launches, all garnered more than 5,000 views each video in less than 12 hours.
In addition to the exhibitors, a significant contribution in the content creation came from SmartFair’s media partners with webinars regarding different topics. (Editor’s note: “The Shifting Scales of U.S. Hard-Surface Import” from Stone Update’s Emerson Schwartzkopf is still available on YouTube.)
After the three-day live event in March, the following two weeks of “after fair” participants had the opportunity to close the deals and collect all the clients’ data obtained during the three main days of fair.
The next SmartFair edition will be announced soon.
