StatWatch: Quartz Doubles Up
Quartz-slab imports literally and figuratively double in November 2012, due mainly to a huge infusion of material from Israel.
Israel takes first place again in November 2012 with a 197.4% surge from the previous year to $8.0 million. Spain remains strong at $7.1 million last November (+28.6%), with China a solid third at $1.8 million (+88.8%. Vietnam continues its climb to $404.549 – a 217.1% November-to-November increase.

Israel almost breaks the million-square-foot barrier last November, shipping 968,611 ft² for a 334.4% spike from November 2011. Spain shows some of its best activity of 2012 at 768,661 ft² (+46.9%), while China cranks it up 126.4% from the previous November to 287,924 ft². Vietnam turns a triple act, jumping 200.7% to 43,368 ft².
