Turner Will Take Dal-Tile Helm Next Month

 

CALHOUN, Ga.  – John “J.T.” Turner Jr. will be the new president of Dal-Tile, effective Jan. 2.

Turner, current chief operating officer, will succeed Harold Turk, who will continue with parent company Mohawk Industries Inc. to lead strategic-development activities with the Dal-Tile business unit.

200 turnerJohn “J.T.” TurnerTurner began his career with Dallas-based Dal-Tile in 1990 and worked in sales. operations and general-management positions. He became senior vice president of sales in 2005, moving to senior vice president of operations in 2008. He assumed the COO office earlier this year.

Calhoun-based Mohawk also announced that Brian Carson will be appointed president of the Mohawk Flooring business unit on Jan. 2. Current president Frank Peters will take on a strategic-development role similar to Turk’s.

Lorberbaum, chairman/CEO of Mohawk Industries. “I am grateful for the many years of leadership that Frank and Harold have contributed to the company, and I am pleased that they will provide ongoing guidance and drive initiatives within our business.”

Dal-Tile, founded in 1947, is the largest manufacturer of ceramic-tile and natural-stone products used in residential and commercial design and construction in North America. Dal-Tile has more than 7,500 employees in North America, and sells its products through a network of more than 250 company-owned sales service centers, stone slabyards, gallery design centers, independent distributors and leading home-center retailers nationwide.

Mohawk acquired Dal-Tile in November 2001.
