Top of the Stone Class with 2013 Pinnacles
CLEVELAND – The best of natural stone came to the fore again with the latest edition of the Pinnacle Awards from the Marble Institute of America (MIA).
The Pinnacle Awards recognize excellence in commercial, residential, and renovation/restoration of natural-stone projects worldwide. Projects selected as winners must demonstrate exceptional beauty, creativity, ingenuity and craftsmanship in the use of granite, marble, travertine, limestone, and other natural stones.
The awards cover the areas of commercial, residential and renovation/restoration work. In addition, one project received the top overall Grande Pinnacle Award, sponsored by the Marmomacc annual international stone event in Verona, Italy.
Judges for the 2013 Pinnacle Awards competition are Kent Duffy FAIA, SRG Partnership, Portland, Ore.; Steve Poland, Ankrom Moisan Architects, Portland, Ore.; Christian Pongratz, Pongratz Perbellini Architects, Verona, Italy; Michael Twiss, Immediate MIA Past President, Columbia Stone, Inc., Tualatin, Ore.; and Chuck Muehlbauer, MIA Technical Director, Cleveland.
