The Road to Mandalay (Bay)

 

LAS VEGAS – For 2013, StoneExpo/Marmomacc Americas is anything but the same old grind.

StonExpo GIFThe annual stone event, held in conjunction with SURFACES as S², heads back to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center on Jan. 28-31, offers a fresh start to the year with a full educational program, the biggest names among U.S. stone-industry vendors and a brand-new look to the popular StoneLIVE on-floor education area.

Education remains a strong component throughout StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas in 2013, with 24 seminars centered on stone from a full slate of 76 sessions offered on Jan. 28-31 with the concurrent running of the SURFACES event.

Attendees can earn the recently created S² StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas Masters Certification. Beginning in 2012, attendees completing eight hours of coursework during any given annual S² show, automatically earn a S² StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas Masters Certification. Certifications will be offered in such key focused studies as Business/Retailing/Business Management, Installation, Stone Fabrication, Sustainability and Design/Trends.

Many sessions offered in our educational program each year qualify for certifications for a variety of professionals. As a registered provider with AIA/CES, IDCEC, IICRC and AIBD, StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas provides a wealth of opportunities to advance your skills, knowledge, business and overall success.

Highlights of the 2013 stone sessions include include:

Commercial Jobsite Stone Repair and Residential Countertop Fabricators Forum on Jan. 28;
Essentials of Stone Maintenance and Restoration Forum  on Jan. 29; and
Countertop Installers Forum: Solutions to the Most Common Problems on Jan. 30.

The Stone Fabricators Alliance will again offer the chain-link enclosure of The CAGE with live demos of tips and techniques in dealing with stone. And, for those with an aversion to being fenced in, there’s the StoneLIVE Stadium, where sessions from The CAGE are streamed live on flat-panel screens to an area with stadium-bleacher seating and a fully stocked bar.

And, there’s the exhibition hall, packed with the industry’s best-known vendors, open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Jan. 29-30, and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Jan. 31.
