Making a Switch for Success
The other area where Evans excels is in his service. He notes that so far the company has been able to meet his goal of a two-week turnaround with every job.
And, while Evans would like to beef up his company’s website to help spread the word about Absolute Tile and Stone, he believes his reputation will ultimately help the company grow.
He also has one other advantage: Sander Coovert is selling for him.
“I was the sole revenue stream before,” says Coovert. “Now that I’m focused on selling, we’re increasing revenue by leaps and bounds.”
Coovert estimates that 2011 sales are up about 50 percent from 2010, “and we’re making it in this economy while a lot of people are still struggling.”
Coovert adds that he couldn’t be happier with the way things have worked out for Absolute. Meanwhile, Evans is definitely focused on the long-haul.
“This is a great industry to be in,” Evans concludes. “This is something I really want to do for the rest of my life, and I want to be able to give my kids the option to do the same thing.”
