Silestone® Renews Lorenzo Sponsorship in Moto GP
CANTORIA, Spain – Silestone will ride along with Spanish world-champion motorcycle racer Jorge Lorenzo for another year.
The quartz-surfaces brand of Cosentino Group renewed its sponsorship agreement with Lorenzo, a leader in the Moto GP series, for another year. Silestone will continue to be a personal sponsor of Lorenzo, who’ll again wear the company’s logo on his helmet and also take part in different events to promote the brand.
Silestone announced the agreement on May 30 at an exclusive event with Lorenzo in Barcelona, with a guest list of 150 that included members of the Barcelona Cosentino Center’s customer loyalty program and numerous media professionals.
Vicente Martínez-Cosentino, manager of the Cosentino Center in Barcelona, and Santiago Alfonso, Cosentino marketing and communications director, represented the Cosentino group.
The 25-year-old Lorenzo won back-to-back world 250cc-class championships in 2006-2007 for the Aprilia racing team before stepping up to the top Moto GP class in 2008. Riding for the Yamaha factory team, he finished second overall to then-teammate Valentino Rossi in 2009 and won the Moto GP championship in 2010.
Lorenzo finished in second place for the 2011 season, and currently leads this year’s championship prior to Sunday’s race in Barcelona, Spain.
