Silestone® Opens Kitchen Design Contest
STAFFORD, Texas – One kitchen designer will be heading for Spain with plenty of spending money, courtesy of Silestone.
The Silestone Design Competition features a grand prize of a six-day, expenses-paid trip to the Iberian peninsula and $2,500 in cash – all for showing creativity with the quartz-surface material.
The contest is open to independent designers using Silestone in kitchen projects completed between September 2011 to September 2012.
“There are so many outstanding kitchen projects that are colorful and truly innovative,” says Lorenzo Marquez, vice president of marketing for Cosentino North America, the parent company of Silestone. “The kitchen is the essence of a home, and functional, bright, bold design completely enhances the experience.
A panel of high-profile design experts will judge and select three finalists using Silestone in a kitchen that not only reflects dynamic design, but also showcases a true passion for color.
The panel includes Kim Lewis, former designer for ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and founder of Kim Lewis Designs in Los Angeles; John Loecke and Jason Oliver Nixon of Madcap Cottage in New York; and Mark Williams of Mark Williams Design Associates in Atlanta.
The second-place selection will receive $2,000 cash. Third prize is $1,000 cash.
The call for entries ends Sept. 30, and winners will be announced on Oct. 16.
“As a company, we’re proud to be a part of such creativity and look forward to honoring designers who rely on our quartz surfaces to bring their designs to life,” Marquez adds.
