Samsung Surfaces Get Certified on Green, Safety Issues
LA MIRADA, Calif. – Samsung recently received two important certifications of its surfacing materials for sustainability and safety.
Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) upgraded its certification of 21 five Radianz™ quartz Recycled Content products and 21 Staron® solid surfaces. In addition to the newly certified products, SCS certification was renewed on several Staron and Radianz Recycled Content colors.
Samsung also received Level 3 certification from the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute; all Staron solid surfaces, Tempest and Radianz quartz products are certified as low-emitting materials leading to better air quality indoors.
Samsung products also qualify for the Children and Schools GREENGUARD certification, suitable for use in environments where children and others work, play or reside.
“We pride ourselves on our commitment to reducing energy consumption while at the same time creating low-emitting products that improve the air quality in homes and places of work,” said Dale Mandell, Samsungs surfacing division’s North America sales director. “Our aim in using pre-consumer recycled content in our products is to surpass both SCS and GREENGUARD criteria, providing another advantage for commercial and residential work partnerships.”
Products certified by SCS as containing recycled materials can help meet the criteria for
LEED®MR 4 as specified by the U.S. Green Building Council.
