Quartz-Surfaces Plant Set for California
BARSTOW, Calif. – State and local officials joined members of American Quartz Group Inc. here on Nov. 15 for the official groundbreaking for the company’s quartz-slab manufacturing plant.
The facility, located 90 miles northeast of Los Angeles, will be the first quartz-slab factory to set up shop on the U.S. West Coast.
The ceremony included California State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Barstow Mayor Julie Hackbarth-McIntyre and Curt Hagman, chairman of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors.
“We are so happy to have found this location here in Barstow as the future site of our new facility,” said American Quartz President Tommy Hu in a report from the Victor Valley News. “The estimated revenue for our first year is over $75 million dollars, and we feel strong and confident to in expanding our manufacturing facility to Barstow.”
The report didn’t indicate when the facility would begin production of slabs.
