CRACK-ISOLATION MEMBRANE
MAPEI, Deerfield Beach, Fla., introduces Mapelastic CI, a premixed liquid-rubber crack-isolation membrane for installation under stone or ceramic tile. Designed for use in interior and exterior environments on residential or commercial projects, the solution resolves potential in-plane cracking in concrete substrates up to 1/8” (3mm). The quick-drying, roller-applied membrane allows stone or tile installations after 30-50 minutes; it changes color when cured, making it easy for workers to see when they can proceed to the next phase of the installation.
