Pre-KBIS: New Slabs from Old (and New)
LAS VEGAS – An inaugural line of outdoor -ready surfaces from the oldest quartz-slab manufacturer, plus product from the newest U.S. quartz-surface factory, will be among new products appearing at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) here next week.
Debuts at the Jan. 21-23 event include a new product category for the Israeli-based producer Caesarstone: the OUTDOOR line.
The new collection includes three colors:
PALM SHADE 515 (white with a subtle warm veining);
MIDDAY 405 (with a white concrete look); and
CLEARSKIES 406 (a pale grey concrete look).
The company, in an announcement last week, noted the OUTDOOR collection carries a 10-year warranty and has been extensively tested in high heat, harsh sunlight and temperature variations where its color consistency and product integrity remain intact. As with the company’s other products, the new surfaces will be nonporous, durable, flexible, scratch and stain resistant, mold and mildew resistant, and lower maintenance than other natural surface materials.
“We are so proud and excited to introduce OUTDOOR to Caesarstone’s already expansive collection of quartz surfaces,” said Elizabeth Margles, Caesarstone North America VP of Marketing. “With today’s emphasis on year-round outdoor entertaining, Caesarstone will now be the one-and-only resource for quartz surfaces, both for the design professional and homeowner, inside and outside.”
Caesarstone will be in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, Lower Level, Booth 1202.
MSI and Spectrum Quartz, meanwhile, will premier the first selection of quartz slabs made in the United States as part of the joint venture announced last month between the two companies, Spectrum’s manufacturing background with the financial backing and distribution capabilities of MSI.
Cranbury, N.J.-based Spectrum began production of new slab designs at the 360,000 ft² Lotta, S.C., factory in December. Spectrum, part of Hirsch Glass Corp., owns another slab-production facility in China and has been producing quartz surfaces since 2014.
MSI will be at the South Hall, Lower Level, Booth 3828. Spectrum Quartz will be at Booth 1010 on the Lower Level of the South Hall.
