Paxton’s Michigan March Madness

LANSING, Mich. – The state of Michigan hopped into the flow of college-basketball playoffs last month, and Paxton Countertops offered a spectacular surface … as in countertops.

300 msu1855 Place at Michigan State UniversityAt NCAA men’s basketball contender Michigan State University’s campus in Lansing, Paxton brought a full bench of products for 1855 Place, a housing office and retail building. The company showcased Silestone® quartz in five different colors: Cemento, Green Fun, Stellar Snow, Merope and Blanco Zeus Extreme.

Additional surfaces received DuPont’s Corian® Quartz Coarse Carrara. Paxton also used Medianoche granite in two variations – Honed and Diamond 100 finishes – along with laminates of Arborite, Octolam and Wilsonart.

In Detroit, where the NCAA tournament held first and second rounds at Little Caesars Arena, Paxton’s countertop work was highlighted by Corian Antarctica as well as LG Hausys Portland and Andromeda. Laminate work featured Formica, Nevamar and Treefrog brands.

All of the countertops, alas, will last far longer than MSU’s run in March Madness this year. The team won its first game against Bucknell by 82-78, but fell in the second round to Syracuse by a close 55-53 score.

As a member of the Artisan Group, Paxton belongs to a group of North American independent countertop professionals who have all attained accreditation from the Natural Stone Institute.
