Park Draws a Crowd with Digital Expo
SPRINGFIELD, N.J. – Park Industries’ recent Digital Stoneworking Expo here drew nearly 100 stone fabricators and professionals for an intense one-day session of education and networking.
The Nov. 9 event featured fabricator presentations that include metrics; a shop tour; and animated discussion on the digital fabrication process.
The shop tour at nearby Atlas Marble & Granite gave attendees the chance to observe Park machines in a working environment. Questions were sparked on machine features, productivity and new business ideas.
The conversation carried into the afternoon portion of the expo, as attendees learned more about the digital-fabrication process and, after viewing the procedure at Atlas, different techniques.
The event’s speakers — Dave Scott of Slabworks of Montana, Liz Roth of Keystone Granite and Blake Wamstad of Hatton Granite — discussed how digital technology transformed their processing of countertops.
The networking of fabricators, shop owners, and Park Industries employees brought about new learnings and ignited the conversation on strengthening their competitive edge.
The shop tours and presentation work as an introduction to open up discussion about the attendees’ shops and defining the metrics within their organizations. Fabricators are asked to evaluate their shop’s performance; the analysis helps develop suggestions on how to improve their efficiency and bottom-line profitability.
Fabricators attending the event heard first-hand how the advancements in technology impact their bottom-line. In addition, Park Industries shared insight into what the digital future holds in the manufacturing industry.
The expo also included hands-on demonstrations with the following partners:
Moraware
Laser Products
Alphacam
SlabSmith
“The lineup of speakers was great!” said James Chapman from Contemporary Concepts in Texarkana, Texas. “I found value in attending, and would definitely recommend other fabricators to attend this event.”
