NTCA: Porcelain-Panel Training in March

JACKSON, Miss. – Trainers from the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) will be visiting five different states offering seven regional training sessions on gauged porcelain tiles and panels (GPTP) during March.

This series of programs aims to equip industry professionals with new skills and knowledge while fostering connections with peers and industry experts. The sessions are free and made possible through the support of sponsors dedicated to elevating the industry through education.

Each session will be presented by NTCA Technical Trainers with extensive experience in tile installation, ensuring that participants receive firsthand knowledge from seasoned professionals.

Regional training sessions are designed to offer tile installers an immersive, all-day experience to hone their skills using both traditional and cutting-edge tools, materials, and techniques, while giving participants practical knowledge rooted in ANSI standards and methods outlined in the Tile Council of North America Handbook for Ceramic, Glass, and Stone Tile Installation.

The content is aligned with industry standards and methods, ensuring relevance and applicability. Each session is limited to 20 participants, and attendees receive a document of course completion upon successfully completing the training session.

Topics for the March Regional Training include:

  • The GPTP/Slabs Training, which equips attendees to install porcelain panels while teaching new industry standards and methods for installing GPTP. Also covered is how GPTP is made, where it can be used, and special tools, setting materials and techniques required to install it, and;
  • The Substrate Preparation and Large-Format Tile Training, which shows how to use the ANSI A108 standards and the TCNA Handbook to address real world challenges in installations focusing on substrate examination and preparation for setting large-format tile.
