2019 Texas, Tennessee Stone Study Tours Set
OBERLIN, Ohio – The Natural Stone Institute announces that registration is now open for two stone study tour opportunities this summer: Austin, Texas, in mid-June, and Knoxville, Tenn., in mid-August.
A two-day mini study tour will still be Texas-sized in Austin on June 11-12, with an afternoon tour of the Texas State Capitol building that’s clad with Sunset Red (call it pink at your peril) granite, followed by a BBQ dinner in downtown Austin.
The second day will include a visit to Coldspring’s Sunset Beige and Sunset Red granite quarries in Marble Falls, Texas, as well as a rare tour of their Stone Panels International fabrication facility. The event closes with an architectural tour on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin, followed by a closing reception.
Registration is open now through May 31. Sponsorships for this event will be accepted until May 17. Learn more at www.naturalstoneinstitute.org/txstudytour.
The Knoxville tour, planned as a combination of a traditional study tour and the best aspects of the former Annual Convention, features a balance of education focused on Tennessee stones and a chance to enjoy the cultural and historic highlights of Knoxville,
There’s also a live auction, and visits to five Natural Stone Institute member facilities: Tennessee Marble, Tennessee Stone, Braxton Bragg, BMJ Stone and Tennessee Building Stone. Unique networking options will be available as well, including a choice of planned recreation and a creative team challenge in an eclectic and chic downtown bowling alley.
Registration is open now, with early bird rates available through June 14. Event registration closes on July 12. Sponsorships and donations for the live auction will be accepted until July 12. Learn more at www.naturalstoneinstitute.org/tnstudytour.
