ANTIBACTERIAL PROCESS
Antolini Luigi, Sega Di Cavaion, Italy, introduces A zerobact, the first treatment for natural stone that prevents the growth of bacteria and mold without the application of chemicals. A proprietary process based on ionization, it does not affect the sensory experience of the stone, because the treatment seeps in without altering the colors and properties. The treatment harmlessly enacts a bacteriostatic process; it is unaffected by external agents, including UV rays, and only requires neutral soap to clean. The process is certified by the U.S. EPA, and for food contact safety under NSF and EU guidelines.
