MATERIALS
SUSTAINABLE TERRAZZO
Coverings ETC, Miami, introduces Eco-Terr Retro, a terrazzo composed of 70-percent recycled material derived from marble, granite, and stone-chip by-products. The new line offers highly pronounced, decorative geometric patterns that are available in a range of motifs including Mediterranean, Cuban, and Art Deco. Customizable patterns are also possible.

BLUE MINERAL
Andean Stone Co., Miami Shores, Fla., introduces Fontainbleau, a dumortierite (aluminum boro-silica) quarried in Peru. The stone features a deep-blue color with some traces of aluminum, and is harder than the similar-looking sodalite or lapus lazuli. The stone is currently available in 2cm-thick tiles of 10” X 10” and in mosaics; and may be offered in larger sizes as the quarry is developed.

QUARTZITE
Arizona Tile, Tempe, Ariz., introduces two new quartzites from Brazil: Fusion, a brown-green stone, and Taj Mahal, a white with a resemblance to Calacatta marble. Both are offered in bundles of 2cm and 3cm slabs in sequential book-matched sets; the slabs are resin-filled and offered in a polished finish.

MARBLE
Vermont Quarries Corp., Mendon, Vt., offers Montclair Mariposa, a Vermont marble with a clean overall white coloration and green veining; the patterns of veining are distinct, with the stone lending itself to book-matching.

PREMIUM VACUUM CUP
Wood’s Powr-Grip®, Laurel, Mont., introduces the Premium N-Series hand cups, combining the features of the original N-Series with a cast metal handle, a red-line vacuum indicator and a protective carrying case. The unit is designed to attach to all kinds of flat stone, whether polished or slightly textured; a low-marking rubber compound will not mark or stain most stone surfaces The cups come with a one-year limited warranty and are eligible for the company’s exclusive Exchange Program. COUNTERTOP LAMINATION CLAMP
Groves Inc., Woodstock, Ill., introduces the Miter Up 200 advanced countertop lamination clamping system, with a unique design for working with a countertop surface face-up. The device is engineered to create fine miter positions and joints on stone, and is easily adjustable. Lengths are available up to 10’. Groves will at StonExpo 2012 in booth B432.

ALL-TERRAIN CART
Omni Cubed Inc., Placerville, Calif., introduces the Pro-Cart AT2 all-terrain countertop installation cart. The unit features collapsible clamp uprights for easy countertop removal and tilting of large stone pieces onto cabinets, along with an innovative adjustable wheel base (with 4” of sliding adjustment to match varying depths of stair treads). The AT2 features large 10” casters, has a rated capacity of 1,000 lbs, and still weighs in at less than 65 lbs. Omni Cubed will be at StonExpo 2012 in booth B578.
