Midwest Chapter Recognized by MIA
OBERLIN, Ohio – The Marble Institute of America has announced the Midwest Stone Fabricators Association (MWSFA) will become the MIA’s Midwest Chapter.
The goal of the chapter will be to increase educational offerings and networking opportunities to stone professionals in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
During the next 18 months of operation, the Midwest Chapter plans to offer six educational courses. Offerings during this period could include:

- MIA Midwest Chapter Kickoff Event;
- Midwest Stone Summit;
- Geology in the Natural Stone Industry;Panel Discussion of Key Industry Issues;
- A Technical Session on Stone Installation; and
- CEU for Architects and Designers
The Midwest Chapter joins the NY Metro and the Toronto chapters in the program. Like the other MIA chapters, the Midwest chapter will hold quarterly meetings.
“This is a great opportunity for the MIA to provide strong educational programming to stone professionals in the region,” said Jim Hieb, MIA executive vice president/CEO. “The MIA looks forward to working with regional members to create a dynamic curriculum which provides benefits for every segment of the industry.”
