MIA Seeks Additional Staffer for Technical Dept.
OBERLIN, Ohio – The Marble Institute of America (MIA) is expanding its technical department with a new full-time position – with a deadline to apply by Dec. 15.
The new technical advisor will join the MIA’s technical department, headed by Chuck Muehlbauer. Key components of the job and skills needed include:
- support of the association’s technical and education programs
- fielding technical inquires and participating in the preparation of graphics and text for technical publications;
- serving on and/or staffing technical committees; and
- speaking at educational events.
The necessary education needed for the position includes a minimum of an associate’s degree in a construction-related field of study (architecture, engineering, construction technology, etc.). A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
The position also requires five years of experience in the stone industry. Experience specific to the decorating or restoration sectors of the stone industry would be a plus.
The position also requires good written and verbal communication skills, with public speaking experience; familiarity and a minimum level of fluency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD software; and the capability of providing a competent and professional representation of the MIA.
The position would be based in Oberlin, although working in a remote location may be possible if relocation is not an option.
