Metabo Taps Geib for Marketing
WEST CHESTER, Pa. — Metabo Corp. hires Jere L. Geib Jr. as its new marketing manager.
Geib will be responsible for marketing, advertising, and sales promotions for the portable-tools company, as well as supporting the development efforts for Metabo’s distribution channel.
Before joining Metabo, Geib served as director of marketing for Translogistic Inc., where he served as a member of the executive management team developing and executing strategic marketing, business and development plans for the company.
Prior to that, he held various marketing and public relations positions for a variety of global electronics manufacturers and distributors including Tyco Electronics, Phoenix Contact, TVC Communications and Harsco Corp.
“Being a best-in-class power tool manufacturer for almost nine decades is no small feat,” Geib said. “Metabo has continually demonstrated exceptional product development and engineering.
“There are significant opportunities to show our customers the productivity and cost benefits of our tools, and I’m excited to share in that venture.”
Metabo President Martin Cross said that, “Over the past 16 years, Jere has held an array of positions in the field of marketing and communications. As a result, he brings well-rounded experience to our team and company.
“His vast knowledge of sales, marketing and communications will help us develop strategies to meet the changing needs of our customers as well as our sales network.”
Metabo, an international manufacturer of professional-grade portable electric power tools, is based in Nurtingen, Germany, with U.S. headquarters in West Chester, Pa. The name Metabo is German for “metal-boring,” symbolic of the company’s first product — a metal-boring tool — manufactured in 1924.
