Latin American Fabricator Expo Debuts
DALLAS – The first Latin American Fabricator Expo here on Nov. 2 will pave the way for more events around the United States in 2025.
The event, held at the Windham Garden Dallas North in Farmers Branch, Texas, drew an interesting variety of fabricators from around the region – from large-scale housing-project producers to small shops.
The daylong event – decorated to reflect the Día de Muerto holiday — featured presentations on the stone market and individual operations, along with product presentations given in Spanish. Highlights included:
- “Journey as a Woman in Leadership” by Angelica Custodio of GranQuartz;
- “Growing My Business in the Fabrication Sector,” by Carlos Blanco of Vascan Tile in San Diego;
- “From Garage to Greatness” by Rodrigo Velasquez, founder and president of Indeko in Miami and Guadalajara, Mexico
- “Digital Marketing Advantages for Small Business” by Devon Callaghan of Google; and
- “Trends and Technology in the Surfaces Industry” by Emerson Schwartzkopf of Stone Update.
The event also included an exhibition including BB Industries; Benjamin Moore; Canteras Portolino; CaraGreen; Farnese; GranQuartz; Laser Products Industries; Park Industries; and Spark Capital.In addition, Cambria sponsored a pre-event dinner on Nov. 1.
The event wrapped up with an afternoon mingle-and-music, with the band Dinastia Servin providing live entertainment.
“This was our first kick off event, focused on the underserved Latinx community of stone fabricators,” said Laura Salazar Grandlienard, owner of ROCKin’ teriors in Cary, N.C., and one of the event’s organizers. “Our corporate sponsors understand the value of the Latino voice by participating in the event.
“My passion is to give Latin-American fabricators a voice. Together, with our corporate sponsors, we placed an initial stake in the ground. More to come in 2025!”
