John Turner Sr. Joins NTCA as Consultant

JACKSON, MISS. – John Turner Sr. is now a consultant for the National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA).

Turner – a long-time Dal-Tile Corp. veteran, known as “Senior” in the trade – will work with the NTCA on membership and Five Star Contractor development.

200 turn senJohn Turner Sr.“We are extremely excited to have Senior working closely with our staff and Board of Directors,” said NTCA Executive Director Bart Bettiga.  “He has a great relationship with many of the top contractors around the country and he believes in the value our association provides to the trade.”

Turner will partner with Jim Olson, NTCA assistant executive director, on membership development and recruitment for the prestigious Five Star Contractor program.  His extensive relationships with tile and flooring contractors across the country, combined with membership in the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and certification as a Construction Documents Technologist and Ceramic Tile Consultant, provide strong anchors for his participation in NTCA’s strategic future quality and educational initiatives.

Turner began his long and distinguished career with Dal-Tile as an architectural sales representative, going on to serve as Sales Service Center (SSC) manager, vice president of sales-Western Region, and manager of architectural sales/national accounts.  He accepted the position of general manager-commercial sales/national accounts, was quickly promoted to general manager in 2000, and held this position until his retirement in November 2010.

Throughout his career, Turner demonstrated dedication to the tile industry by representing Dal-Tile with many industry associations, including NTCA.  He worked closely with NTCA providing support through sponsorships and widespread promotion of the NTCA workshop program.

“I have enjoyed working closely with the NTCA for many years while I was on their Board of Directors,” said Turner. “It will be a pleasure to assist them in their Membership and Five Star Contractor programs.”
