But, he adds, “We had a good team and everyone was great to work with.”
While construction on most of the Sorenson Building was scheduled to wrap up in July, RJ Masonry returned to the site in April as a final step on the masonry side of the project. The company washed the stone with a detergent to clean off the dirt and residue left from the installation.
“That brings it to a nicer, cleaner level,” says Layton’s Charves. “The natural colors have come out brighter than they were. I think people are happy to see something different on the campus. I haven’t heard anybody say they don’t like the stone; it looks great.”
