ISFA Introduces EDGE Awards

NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The International Surface Fabricators Association (ISFA) introduces a new national program to recognize projects, people, shops, and innovations shaping the hard-surface industry.

The EDGE (Elevating Design, Growth & Excellence) Awards celebrate craftsmanship, innovation, professionalism, and leadership across the industry, from exceptional projects and material mastery to industry leadership, shop safety, and product innovation.

The deadline for entries is Sept. 30.

Awards will be given in 15 different categories, with 13 core categories open to all eligible ISFA members. Two national Product Innovation Awards are reserved for Associate Partners. Applicable projects may be entered in more than one category using a separate form for each.

Core categories include:

  • Countertop and Surface Manufacturer of the Year;
  • Fabricator of the Year;
  • Associate Member of the Year;
  • Residential Excellence over $20,000;
  • Residential Excellence under $20,000;
  • Commercial Excellence over $100,000;
  • Commercial Excellence under $100,000;
  • Material Mastery – quartz;
  • Material Mastery – solid surface;
  • Material Mastery – natural stone;
  • Material Mastery – ultra compact, and;
  • Outdoor Project Excellence.

Additionally, there is a Shop Safety & Excellence Award, where members are peer-nominated and recognizes the shop that sets the standard for a safe, well-run operation. A sponsoring company submits on the nominee’s behalf, documenting the shop’s safety program, training practices, shop conditions,  and safety record.

Two National Product Innovation Awards are open to associate partners only. One is for product innovation in materials, and the other is in tools.

Each entry is scored on a defined system. Judges score each criterion on a 1-10 scale, multiply by the listed weight and sum to a total out of 100. Five independent industry judges will score each entry.

Judges are selected and invited by ISFA based on their industry expertise, experience and ability to provide fair, unbiased evaluations. The deadline for submitting nominations is Sept. 30.

Awards will be presented as part of this year’s Annual Conference in Fort Worth, Texas, on Nov. 3- 4.
