Hanley Wood Rebrands, Expands Events
DALLAS – StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas will add a second venue and head east next year as part of a new industry event.
Hanley Wood announced today the launch of The International Surface Event (TISE), combining SURFACES and StonExpo with a new trade show – TileExpo – and adding an October 2014 location in Miami Beach, Fla.
TISE will debut in Las Vegas in January as the new identity for the previously scheduled S² event.
“We are thrilled to launch these two events, says Dana Teague, vice president of Hanley Wood Exhibitions. “TileExpo will be the perfect complement to SURFACES and StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas; launching The International Surface Event East diversifies our geographic and market segment reach, and creates new opportunities for our audiences to engage with the industry.”
TileExpo will feature a wide array of tile products, along with a comprehensive education program including hands-on demonstrations and on-floor education. Exhibitors will gain exposure to the largest gathering of floor covering and surface industry professionals in North America.
The International Surface Event will be held Jan. 27-30 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, with the exhibit hall open from Jan. 28-30.
The International Surface Event East will be held Oct. 19-22 at the Miami Beach Convention Center in Miami Beach. Exhibits will be open Oct. 20-22.
All operations and show management will be led by Hanley Wood Exhibitions in Dallas.
“The International Surface Event East will fill a void that has been missing,” said Jim Hieb, executive vice president/CEO of the Marble Institute of America (MIA). “We are eager to see all of our members and industry colleagues in Miami Beach. This show will be essential for companies looking for growth and ways to stand out in our competitive industry.”
“As a long-standing partner of Hanley Wood Exhibitions, Veronafiere is delighted to see the continuing growth of StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas,” says Claudio Solignani, director of planning and development at Veronafiere in Verona, Italy. “A stone-industry show on the East Coast will certainly create an opportunity for increased European exposure in the United States.”
“The SFA is very pleased with Hanley Wood’s decision to launch The International Surface Event East,” says Matt Lansing, Stone Fabricators Alliance (SFA) executive director. “We believe in a Fall show that allows businesses to take advantage of annual fiscal tax opportunities, which are beneficial to suppliers and customers alike. We look forward to this expansion and are confident that this show will be appreciated and embraced by all involved.”
Amie Gilmore, associate show director of SURFACES | StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas | TileExpo says, “Exhibitors will now have the chance to showcase their products and services during two distinctively different buying seasons. We have received countless requests for a fall show, as well as an East Coast show, and we’re happy to finally be able to fill this important industry need.”
Duke Pointer, executive director of the Natural Stone Council, explained, “The Natural Stone Council has a long relationship with Hanley Wood and we are extremely excited about sponsoring a second StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas show each year. We have seen growth of the show from its infancy and are confident in Hanley Wood’s leadership going forward.”
