GranQuartz Canada Selects Epicor to Manage Custom Services
AUSTIN, Texas – GranQuartz Canada will use Epicor Software Corp.’s Prophet 21® software as its new enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to automate its business processes and access all information under one system.
Stanstead, Quebec-based GranQuartz Canada is one of the largest distributor of stone tools and equipment in Canada, operating a large fleet of mobile sales vehicles in the stone industry to bring customers the products they need when they need it. In addition to the stone industry, the company provides top quality products and services to the concrete polishing and tile markets.
GranQuartz Canada offers custom and tailored services for their customers, but its previous system couldn’t manage and automate personalized services. When the company began searching for a new ERP system, the ability to do so was very important to them.
“We wanted to give our customers the best possible customer service, but we didn’t have the systems to do so,” said Mélanie Samson, project coordinator at GranQuartz Canada. “We needed a system that would have all the information that we needed in one place, allowing us to follow up with our customers faster and provide a better overall experience.”
GranQuartz Canada’s previous system wasn’t integrated, resulting in a mostly manual process for the company. Not only did this affect inventory management, it also made training employees a time-consuming process.
Because most of their services are tailored to their customers’ needs, the company relied heavily on human awareness, and there was a lot for employees to learn. Implementing Prophet 21 will allow the company to rely less on employee knowledge and instead only train on the system and products.
“We have already seen benefits in the training process,” Samson said. “We can train employees according to the workflow and people are able to train from home or whenever it’s convenient for them. Administrators can also see where people are at in the process, how they are doing, and use that information to figure out their training needs.”
