Flooring Summit Keynoters Announced
ARLINGTON, Va. – The Flooring Sustainability Summit will feature four leaders in design and green building as keynote speakers this summer.
The summit, scheduled for July 17-18 in Washington, is the first-of-its-kind event, aimed at encouraging discussion of sustainability and green building practices.
The keynoters include:
Alexander Cochran, Chief Advocacy Officer, American Institute of Architects (AIA). Before joining AIA, Cochran served as an advisor to the federal Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, and more recently worked for the governor of New York where he helped conceive the U.S. Climate Alliance.
Cheryl Durst, Executive Vice President and CEO, International Interior Design Association (IIDA). Durst oversees the strategic direction of IIDA, which has 15,000 members in 58 countries. She is also a member of the International WELL Building Institute Governance Council and a member of the Interior Design Hall of Fame.
Peter Templeton, President and CEO, U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). For 25 years, Templeton has worked to accelerate global adoption of practices that enhance human health, environmental well-being, and quality of life. He joined USGBC to direct the launch of the LEED® Rating System, the most widely-used and -respected green building program in the world.
Vicki Worden, President and CEO, Green Building Initiative (GBI). At GBI, Worden has spearheaded the creation of a decarbonization rating system for commercial buildings. A member of Women Executives in Building, she has supported industries, corporations, government agencies and international nonprofits in progressing toward sustainability goals.
