Fireclay Acquires Fox Marble
SAN FRANCISCO – Fireclay Tile is expanding beyond tile by acquiring Fox Marble, a San Francisco Bay area leader in stone fabrication and installation.

The acquisition adds approximately 115 teammates, a 50,000 ft² fabrication facility in Richmond, Calif., and a new platform for hiring, training, and modernizing skilled trade work across stone and tile.
The deal marks Fireclay’s first move into stone and accelerates its push to offer end-to-end support across both manufacturing and field execution.
By bringing Fox Marble’s capabilities, crews and restoration services in-house, Fireclay aims to streamline project delivery for partners, reducing coordination challenges and improving accountability from shop to site.
“Since our beginning in1986 Fox Marble has earned a reputation in the Bay Area for high-quality fabrication, skilled field execution, and trusted relationships with leading general contractors, architects, designers, and homeowners,” said Charles McLaughlin, Fox Marble founder/CEO. “Joining Fireclay Tile gives our team the resources, systems, and long-term investment to keep growing while continuing to serve clients with the people and quality they trust.”
The solar-powered Richmond fabrication facility will also feature a new Fox Training Center, dedicated to cultivating the next generation of skilled craft and technical talent across both fabrication and field operations.
Fox Marble’s current leadership team including Nick Barr, Dan Lopez, and Adalid Estrada are being supported by Eric Edelson, who will be the CEO of both Fox Marble and Fireclay Tile.
“We’ve spent the last two decades proving that artisan manufacturing can scale,” Edelson said. “We grew Fireclay Tile from 19 teammates to nearly 300 while building a national brand, and we believe the same kind of investment, training, systems, and technology can help strengthen the trades we rely on every day.
“There’s a real shortage of skilled labor in our category, and we see an opportunity to hire, develop, and modernize in a way that makes us a better partner. Fox Marble is an amazing company and the perfect platform for this next chapter.”
Fireclay Tile entered tile installation in the San Francisco Bay Area two years ago as part of a broader effort to build a more dependable, disciplined service model around the products it makes.
Founded in 1986, Fireclay Tile began with a passion for conservation, using clay – one of the oldest building materials – from local sources to create beautiful, sustainably made tiles. Today, Fireclay’s tiles are handcrafted with 100% renewable energy, qualifying for industry-leading certifications including B Corporation and LEED. Every single tile is responsibly made in America in Fireclay’s factories in Aromas, Calif., and Spokane, Wash.
