Fabricator Honored for Active Troops Support
NOTTINGHAM, Md. – Phillip Klein Jr., president of Beltway Custom Granite and Marble, received a Patriot Award earlier this week in recognition of extraordinary support of his employee serving in the Maryland Guard and Reserve.
Klein gained the honor from the Maryland Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense office.
“The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve, “ said Dan Borleis, Maryland ESGR Employer Outreach. “Phillip Klein was nominated for being highly supportive of the Guard and Reserve by SPC Cort C. Becker, his ARNG Component employee.
“Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972 to develop and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service. ESGR advocates relevant initiatives, recognizes outstanding support, increases awareness of applicable laws, and resolves conflict between service members and employers.
