Designed by Matteo Thun & Partners for Florim, “Sensi” – the only ceramic product in the Green product/Graphic Design category – received recognition for the ability to combine design and beauty, with a close focus on sustainability, environmental protection and saving energy.

The large ceramic slabs are made with over 90% natural raw materials, contain up to 42% recycled materials and derive from a production process that is up to 100% sustainable.

The collection now carries the prestigious seal certifying its design excellence at the international level.

“We are really proud of this prestigious acknowledgment which recognises our commitment to improving the wellbeing of both people and our planet,” said Claudio, Lucchese, Florim SB chairman. “Goals that we have pursued for some time and which form part of a process recently consolidated with the attainment of B Corp certification and our acquisition of Benefit Corporation status.

“Our partnership with the Matteo Thun studio has enabled us to get the most from our production processes in terms of innovation and sustainability. Natural and recycled raw materials, cutting-edge technologies and an attentive process at the complete service of Italian design.

“We are extremely happy to have found, in Florim, the perfect partner for the development of porcelain stoneware slabs and are particularly honored to have created a collection worthy of the Green Good Design Award,” commented Matteo Thun, founder of Thun & Partners. “A combination of innovation and sustainability, “Sensi” comes from a different dimension and does not “steal” from nature but enriches the construction landscape. The series was designed focusing particular attention on its environmental and energy impact.

“Sensi” combines lightness, simple elegance and sophistication inspired directly by nature. The surfaces are the real stars.”

Thee Green Good Design Award was founded in 2008 as the “environmentally-friendly” version of the “Good Design Award” – promoted by The Chicago Athenaeum and the European Center for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies – and every year celebrates sustainable products, buildings and urban projects.
