TISE 2021 Moves Forward with June Event
LAS VEGAS – The International Surface Event (TISE) is moving ahead with its early summer dates here following new guidelines set for large-group meetings.
The in-person event, including SURFACES, StonExpo/Marmomac and TileExpo, will take place on June 16-18 at the Mandalay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Registration will open by the end of March.
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak approved revised state guidelines earlier this month that expanded opportunities for meetings, conventions, and trade shows, and conveyed Las Vegas’ updated reopening plan.
Event producer/owner Informa Markets surveyed past attendees, via a third-party provider, to ensure a community-driven decision to hold an in-person TISE. Nearly nine out of ten — 89% — of survey respondents said they would likely attend the June event, and 98% viewed the decision as favorable to the industry.
Event producer/owner Informa Markets has worked with Mandalay Bay on a thorough health and safety plan, largely based on the framework of Informa AllSecure, a set of rigorous health and safety measures to prioritize guest safety at trade events.
The AllSecure program includes mandatory face masks and temperature checks for all participants. (The new Nevada large-gathering guidelines also require the wearing of masks and some form of health screening.)
Through this plan, The International Surface Event has set specific operational protocols and communication strategies surrounding the event.
“TISE knows doing business in the flooring, stone, and tile industry requires experiencing the products first-hand and building relationships in a face-to-face environment,” said Dana Hicks, TISE show director. “We are confident in our ability to execute a safe event under Informa AllSecure.”
“Not only are tradeshows vital for the markets they serve, but the economic impact of holding The International Surface Event is tremendous for Las Vegas,” explained Kevin Thornton, Informa Markets vice president of operations.
“Conventions bring an estimated $11 billion annually to Las Vegas, and those like The International Surface Event create thousands of jobs supporting local hotels, restaurants, retailers, and entertainment, among others.”
Attendees wanting to be notified immediately when registration opens should complete the notify me form.
