Coverings Extends 2021 Awards Deadline
ARLINGTON, Va. – Missed the deadline for the Coverings Installation and Design (CID) and Rock Stars awards this year? Now you’re getting a second chance – but it’s only until March 26.
Show organizers extended the deadline for both competitions to correspond with the rescheduling of Coverings 2021 from this spring to July 7-9 in Orlando.
The CID Awards annually recognize projects worldwide featuring tile and stone. And, Coverings Rock Stars salute the young movers-and-shakers in the industry.
“To date, we have received many impressive tile and stone project submissions for the CID Awards as well as several Rock Star nominations for talented individuals who continue to positively impact the industry,” said Jennifer Hoff, president of Taffy Event Strategies LLC, the event management firm for Coverings. “We are excited to receive additional entries and nominations prior to the deadline, and we look forward to showcasing some of the most exceptional tile and stone installations, designs and young industry leaders at Coverings 2021.”
Entries for both programs must be submitted online, with a deadline of 11:59 p.m. EDT on March 26.
Tile and stone projects completed from January 2019 to December 2020 are eligible for the CID honors. Projects will be judged separately on installation and design, with entry forms specific to each field of work. Submissions are open to architects, designers, builders, contractors, distributors, retailers, installers, and other industry professionals.
Projects will be assessed by an independent panel of judges on their levels of creativity, craftsmanship, outstanding use of materials, and achievement in the use of tile or stone.
Awards will be given in Residential and Commercial categories for:

Tile Design
Stone Installation
Stone Design
All winners will win a free one-night stay in Orlando to attend Coverings 2021 on July 7-9 and recognition at the show as well as in trade media. Winners will also have their work displayed onsite at the show.

The Coverings Rock Star awards spotlight young industry talent that has a bright future in the tile and stone industry. The program underscores Coverings mission to support the growth and success of the industry by recognizing top-notch talent and fostering networking and educational opportunities.
Eligible nominees must be 35 or below and employed within one of the following professions: architect, designer, distributor, retailer, contractor/installer, fabricator, specifier, trade association, or manufacturer.
Selected Rock Stars will receive industry accolades, a complimentary one-night stay to attend Coverings 2021 in Orlando on April 13-16, and unique professional development opportunities.
