NTCA Resuming In-Person Training
JACKSON, Miss. — The National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) is going back to school with in-person sessions, starting next month.
The real, non-Zoom events will start with the March 10 event at Virginia Tile in Brooklyn Heights, Ohio.
“We are excited to be heading back on the road (in a safe manner) this year to bring our seminars and workshops to our members across the country,” says Jim Olson, NTCA Assistant Executive Director responsible for training and education programs for the NTCA.
Each year, the NTCA reaches over 8,000 industry professionals through a variety of educational programs, including hands-on workshops. These workshops are usually hosted by a tile distributor at their site, providing an excellent opportunity for tile distributors to offer valuable education/training to their customers.
Regional training programs were introduced in 2018 and offer comprehensive, hands-on training related to specific skills required for certain products and systems. “NTCA training instructors are technically-trained individuals with real-world tile contracting experience who are eager to share their knowledge with others,” Olson added.
NTCA was forced to cancel 29 0f 30 scheduled programs in 2020 due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
This year, NTCA is offering an ambitious slate of 53 three-hour evening workshops and 35 daylong hands-on regional training programs.
The March 10 session will be on standards-based installation of Gauged Porcelain Tile and Gauged Porcelain Tile Panels/Slabs (GPTP). The event is limited to 20 attendees and will be operated under NTCA coronavirus safety protocols.
GPTP training programs will also be held this spring in Logan Township, N.J. (April 8-9), Savage, Md. (May 7) and Alexandria, Va. (May 13).
Information and registration for all NTCA sessions are available at https://www.tile-assn.com/events/event_list.asp.
