Design Superstore Joins Artisan Group
WACO, Texas — Design Superstore, the largest flooring and interior finishing business in Central Texas and the Brazos Valley, has been selected as a member of the Artisan Group group of independent countertop fabricators.

Design Superstore, formerly known as Discount Floors Superstore, started as a carpet store. Keith Richbourg and his spouse Sherri purchased Discount Carpet in Bryan, Texas, and renamed it Discount Floors Superstore to reflect the growing list of products and services. The Richbourgs updated and transformed the downtown location, where it originally opened in 1977
In 2003 the company expanded to Waco, and then again in 2009, to Temple. That same year, they acquired a granite countertop company in Waco, and soon added cabinets. Goldstone Granite was the first company in the area to implement a digital fabrication facility. This technology allows customers to see how their countertop will look before the stone is cut.
In 2012, the company moved the Waco store to its current location on the city’s Franklin Avenue. After completely renovating the 30,000 ft² showroom, the Richbourgs opened what is now the flagship Superstore, bringing together Discount Floors, Goldstone Granite and Artisan Cabinets under one roof and the new company name of Design Superstore.
The Artisan Group is a national organization of 36 independent countertop fabricators who have joined to offer their own brands of premium countertops including Artisan Stone Collection™ granite and marble, Saratoga Soapstone and Heritage Wood. The Artisan Stone Collection is the first and only granite countertop with a residential limited lifetime warranty; it also supplies the Firstline collection of granite care products, as well as Kohler sinks and faucets through an exclusive specialty dealer program with the Kohler Company.
