DeMille Gets Coverings Honor

CHICAGO – Cameron DeMille, a nationally known expert on stone care and renewal, became a rock star last night – at least in the opinion of the Coverings tile-and-stone event here.

250 CameronCameron DeMilleDeMille, a frequent presenter of stone-care tips and techniques at trade events, became part of the second class of Coverings’ Rock Stars program, recognizing emerging leaders in the industry.

A panel of industry professionals selected Demille, of Easy Stone Care in Cathedral City, Calif., as one of 10 people selected for the honor.

In the stone industry, Coverings also gave the Rock Star award to Jason Holman of The Source Stone in Martinez, Calif.,

The honorees were announced during the Coverings CID & Opening Night Celebration, held last night at McCormick Place in Chicago.

“Coverings is honored to welcome the second class of influential young industry leaders into its Rock Stars program,” said Karin Fendrich, Coverings show director. “The future and continued success of the tile and stone industry is dependent on the many talents represented by this diverse group of professionals, and we look forward to the innovative ideas and leadership they will continue to share in the years ahead.”

DeMille is well-known for his hands-on presentations of stone care. He also became the first Educator of the Year of the Stone Fabricators Alliance in 2009.

The selected Rock Stars each received a one-night hotel stay in Chicago to attend Coverings.

Coverings 2016 continues through April 21 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Coverings 2017 will be April 4-7 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
