Coverings Design/Install Awards Now Open

 

ALEXANDRIA, Va. – Entries are now being accepted for the 2012 Coverings Installation and Design (CID) Awards.

200 coverings awardsThe awards, held as part of the Coverings 2012 trade event in Orlando, Fla., in April, spotlight the best uses of natural stone, ceramic tile and mosaic tile/glass for U.S. residential and commercial projects.

The deadline for entries is Feb. 1, 2012.

The installer and designer of the Grand Prize winning project will receive $1,000 each. Additional $500 cash prizes in residential and commercial categories will also be awarded for uses of tile, natural stone and mosaic tile/glass.

The competition is open to architects, designers, builders, contractors, distributors, retailers, installers and other professionals with residential and commercial projects demonstrating design and installation excellence with natural stone, ceramic tile and mosaic tile/glass. Projects must have been completed between January 1, 2009-December 31, 2011, and be located within the United States.

Entries should demonstrate an original or unusual use of materials, incorporate an innovative technology, reflect installation excellence, or successfully combine aesthetics with function in a unique and interesting way. An independent panel of judges for all award categories will evaluate entries using a blind format based on excellence in execution, installation, inspiring/original use and overall design/purpose.

Winners must attend the awards reception on Thursday, April 19, 2012, in Orlando, FL. If winners are unable to attend, the project will be disqualified and a new winner will be awarded.
