Coverings 2022 Draws 18,000 to Las Vegas
ARLINGTON, Va. – Coverings 2022 brought nearly 18,000 hard-surface industry professionals to Las Vegas early last month.
The four-day event at the Las Vegas Convention Center marked an 18% increase in attendance from last July’s Coverings in Orlando.
“We are extremely excited and pleased with the increased attendance and magnetic energy at Coverings 2022,” said Jennifer Hoff, president of Taffy Event Strategies, the event planning company for Coverings. “The show’s global turnout and action-packed activities were key indicators that in-person events are valuable to tile and stone industry members who are ready to do business, connect with peers and suppliers as well as see, touch and feel products onsite.”
Showgoers explored exhibits in nine global pavilions hosted by the world’s leading tile associations and product manufacturers from countries including the United States, Spain, Italy, Brazil, Turkey, Portugal, India, and China. Exhibitors represented 34 countries, of which 69% came from outside the United States.
The year’s top ten tile trends, which were seen in near-countless examples throughout the show floor, were the subject of multiple onsite tile trends presentations and tours provided by Alena Capra, Coverings spokesperson, industry ambassador and owner of Alena Capra Designs.
Three different contractor tours allowed tour-goers a close-up look at the year’s newest and most innovative tools and equipment. Podcast participation was also a popular show activity, with 10 live podcasts – including a special edition of Radio Stone Update – covered a range of timely and relevant topics during the four-day event.
The Coverings 2022 extensive offering of 24 educational sessions focused on three tracks: Installation & Fabrication, Materials & Trends, and Workforce & Profits. Events on the show floor included the Installation Innovation Stage with 48 presentations and live demonstrations of advanced techniques to install new products., and the Trends and Solutions Stage with 19 presentations offered by Coverings exhibitors and trade professionals. The Experience Stage, located within the Coverings Lounge, offered opportunities to learn from industry experts about Coverings’ core focuses of “Wellness & Environment”; “Timeless Luxury” and “Outdoor Living Spaces.”
“It was our first year to exhibit at Coverings, and we were not sure what to expect,” said Gordon Williams, president of Inlay Spacer. “We left the show excited about possible business opportunities that presented themselves from the exposure that Coverings provided.”
“Coverings 2022 was no exception to the fact industry professionals attend Coverings each year to explore the latest trends, source global products, network with industry peers, gain project inspiration, learn new information, and find solutions to grow their businesses,” said Hoff. “Plans are already in the works for Coverings 2023, which will take place April 18-21at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.”
