Coverings 2021 Shifts to July
ARLINGTON, Va. – Coverings will move down the calendar from spring to mid-summer next year.
The tile-and-stone event will now be July 7-9 in Orlando, Fla., at the Orange County Convention Center.
“We are committed to producing a safe and robust industry meeting that unites the dynamic tile and stone industry,” said Alberto Echavarría, chairman of the board for Coverings 2021, during a press conference today. “We want to maximize the rich experience that our attendees, exhibitors, partners and the industry expect and deserve.”
Coverings is the latest hard-surface event to change its 2021 plans. Previously, the event was to take place on April 13-16.
“We are excited with the new date for Coverings 2021 as rescheduling reaffirms Coverings’ commitment to produce a safe, in-person event to unite the tile and stone industry,” said Jennifer Hoff, president of Taffy Event Strategies LLC, the event management firm for Coverings. “The show management team and Coverings’ owners are working diligently to have a safe and successful Coverings 2021 event.”
July’s show will be more-compact that previous Coverings events. There’s one less day, although show hours will be expanded from 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. on July 7-8 and 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m on July 9.
Show organizers also anticipate taking less floor space on the convention-center floor.
“While the show in July will be smaller than the typical Coverings, we expect a robust showcase of tile & stone industry manufacturers from around the world,” noted an online FAQ at coverings.com. “An online list of exhibitors will be available online in early April.”
Show organizers will be working with exhibitors on exhibition details. The event’s lodging coordinator will contact anyone who’s booked rooms with them to change reservations to July.
Online registration for the July event will begin in mid-Jaunary.
The in-person event’s delay opened another slot for the quarterly Coverings Connected online sessions, with a new date announced of April 28. A previously announced Coverings Connection on Feb. 23 – National Tile Day – will also take place.
