Coverings 2020 Still on Track
ARLINGTON, Va. – Coverings 2020 is still on the schedule.
The tile-and-stone event will take place in New Orleans on April 20-23 amid concerns internationally over the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak.
“The health and safety of our exhibitors and attendees are important to Coverings and a show priority,” as stated in a release yesterday from the show’s management company, Taffy Event Strategies.
“In close cooperation with the convention center, Coverings show management will review recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO), the CDC, and the policies of local government and city officials,” the statement continued.
The statement also noted the steps being taken at the event’s location, the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in downtown New Orleans. A linked protocol statement detailed the facility’s preparation, including increased frequency of cleaning and placement of hand-sanitizing stations throughout convention-center lobbies.
“We encourage exhibitors and attendees to implement appropriate guidelines as suggested by the WHO and other health authorities,” the statement added.
The spread of the coronavirus in January led to the postponement of the China International Stone Fair in Xiamen, China, from mid-March to early June, as well as cancellations and delays of trade events in other industries.
A copy of the statement is available here on the Coverings website.
