Cersaie Attendance Grows by 50%
BOLOGNA, Italy – The 39th edition of the international tile event Cersaie drew closer to its pre-pandemic levels in late September with an attendance of more than 90,000.
The five-day event on Sept 26-30 at BolognaFiere eventually saw 91,296 visitors, with a growth of about 50% from last year’s edition. More than 48% — 44,215 – came from outside Italy for the show.
Attendees from North America made up part of the Cersaie Business delegation in an effort spearheaded by Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Italian Trade Agency.
The total attendance made a significant move towards the pre-pandemic attendance record for the show in 2019, when 112,340 passed through the entrance turnstiles. Due to strict COVID-19 restrictions, no event was held in 2020.
The 15 pavilions at BolognaFiere housed 624 exhibitors throughout 1.5 million ft² of space. Some 38% of exhibitors – 237 – came from outside Italy and hailed from 26 different countries.
“I am convinced that the investments made by the 624 exhibitors of Cersaie 2022 have had the best possible return from a fair that has confirmed its national importance and international at distributors, architects, installers, real estate operators ,” said Giovanni Savorani, president of Confindustria Ceramica.
Cersaie will return to Bologna on Sept. 25-29 next year.
