Hedblom to Lead Epiroc AB in 2020
STOCKHOLM – Helena Hedblom will become the new president/CEO of Swedish mining-equipment manufacture Epiroc AB during next year’s first quarter.
Hedblom, currently Epiroc’s senior executive vice president mining and infrastructure, will succeed Per Lindblom, who’s decided to leave the company after guiding its separation from former parent firm Atlas Copco.
Hedblom will take her new position on March 1.
Hedblom began her career with Atlas Copco in 2000, eventually serving as president of the rock-drilling-tools division and, in 2017, president of the mining and rock-excavation business. A member of Eprioc Group Management, she is also a director of industrial-process-solutions company IPCO AB and the Swedish Association of Mines, Mineral and Metal Producers (Svemin).
“Helena has a strong business focus, an in-depth knowledge of the business and is an appreciated leader who is living and breathing the Epiroc values,” said Ronnie Leten, Epiroc’s board chairman. “As head of the Mining and Infrastructure business, she has grown the business with increased earnings and a focus on strengthening productivity, safety and efficiency for customers.
“We are proud that we found the new leader inside the Group and are confident that she will further develop and grow Epiroc.”
Lindberg joined Atlas Copco last year after serviing as president/CEO of BillerudKorsnäs AB, a Swedish supplier of renewable packaging materials and solutions. He oversaw the spin-off of Epiroc into an independent company.
During his term, the company also expanded by acquiringa 34% stake in Utah-based mining autonomy major ASI Mining, buying Canadian rock tools manufacturer Fordia, and adding Sautec, an equipment distributor in Tallinn, Estonia.
“I would like to thank Per for an excellent job in guiding the company through the listing and preparing Epiroc for the next step,” Leten said. “He has provided strong leadership and has successfully carried out what was agreed and expected in his assignment.”
Lindberg will resign from the Epiroc board at the same time he leaves the position as President and CEO.
