Canada Offers Granite D.R.C. $500K Funding
RIVIÈRE-À-PIERRE, Quebec – Quarrier/producer Granite D.R.C. Inc. will be expanding operations, thanks in part to $500,000 in financing from the Canadian government.
The repayable economic-development funding, announced today, will go to purchasing and installing saws and other equipment at Granite D.R.C.’s plant here.
Founded in 1989, Granite D.R.C. Inc. manufactures a variety of natural-stone products. It operates four quarries in Quebec, including its main source in Rivière-à-Pierre for Canadian Caledonia granite, including elements of urban furniture, landscape products, custom architectural products and kitchen countertops.
“The Government of Canada is committed to helping Quebec’s small and medium-sized enterprises remain competitive and create jobs,” said Denis Lebel, minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec. “By lending support to Granite D.R.C.’s project, we are contributing to the growth and productivity of our local businesses.”
The funding is part of Canada Economic Development’s Quebec Economic Development Program.
