Breton Gets Majority Stake in Tecnema
CASTELLO di GODEGO, Italy – Breton S.p.A. now holds a majority shareholding interest in Tecnema Technology, a manufacturer of tile-finishing equipment based in Maranello, Italy.
Carried out in cooperation with Tecnema’s founding partner Umberto Fava, the acquisition lays the foundations for close collaboration between the two companies with the aim of establishing a leadership position in all mechanical finishing stages for ceramic tiles and slabs.
In this sector, Breton now combines its honing and wet cutting lines for large ceramic slabs with the innovative and high-performance automatic dry-cut squaring and grinding lines produced by Tecnema, which can be integrated into Breton’s IT system in accordance with an Industry 4.0 philosophy.
Tecnema began producing machines for cutting ceramics and stone in 1989, and incorporated Promec s.r.l. into the company in 1995. Tecnema machines are used in the production and finishing of ceramic tiles; the company also offers specialty equipment for modifying material for use in ventilated facades.
Fava and his son Alessandro will continue to play a driving role within the management of Tecnema. Tecnema’s well-established position in the heart of the Italian ceramic tile cluster will enable Breton to strengthen its customer service structure in the Sassuolo district along with its subsidiaries in the United States, India, Australia, China, the United Kingdom and Brazil.
