Arley Announces Top-Level Internal Promotions
SCRANTON, Pa. — Arley Wholesale Inc., a family-owned, third-generation supplier of stone and tile surfaces, is bringing the newest generation to the fore.
Scott Levy, grandson of Arley founder Irving Levy, is the new president of the company as part of several management changes.
“We have established a number of goals to better serve our 26-state clientele moving forward, Levy said. “A major one is to look at every aspect of our business and ask the question, ‘How does this help our customer?’ If we find out that something needs to change, we will change it so that our customers have a better experience.
“The business is doing well, but working together, we can make it even better. We are thrilled that our highly respected leaders will stay on and provide their wisdom and continue to be active with us, passing the baton on to the next generation of Arley’s top management team.”
Scott Levy has been an Arley team member since 1993, most recently holding the position of Executive Vice President of Operations.
“Our ongoing programs of growth and offering cutting-edge, modern products backed up by world-class service will never change,” Levy commented. “But, neither will the foundations from which our company was built upon.
“Back in 1935, my grandfather, Irving Levy, was emphatic that Arley personnel must 1.) Be honorable in everything they do, 2.) Live up to their agreements; one’s word is one’s bond… and, 3.) Be loyal to both suppliers and customers, as they are the backbone of our business. Arley will always be managed according to these principles.”
Saul Levy, Scott’s father, has been President of Arley for more than three decades. A son of founder Irving Levy, he’ll retain his position as Treasurer of Arley Wholesale, Inc. and will continue to be active on a daily basis, lending his wisdom and experience to the team.
Bruce Gevanthor, who’s been with the firm for more than two decades, will now be the Executive Vice President and will be responsible for overall Marketing, Purchasing and Inventory of the Tile and Stone division. Previously the Executive Vice President of Marketing, he is also a grandson of founder Irving Levy.
Norman Gevanthor, Executive Vice President of the firm will retain his position as the firm’s Secretary and continue to manage the company’s highly successful Commercial Division.
And Arlene Levy Gevanthor, daughter of the founder and original leader of the Tile & Stone Division, will be taking on the title of Executive and continue to provide her leadership and guidance to the team.
“Here at Arley, we are able maintain being a true family business in every sense,” Scott Levy said. “And our employees, whether their ties to us are family or business-based, are always treated like true family members. Perhaps that’s why they all have an ironclad commitment not only to our customers and to our company, but also to each other… and, to the tile industry, as well.
“All of us at Arley are thrilled about the future of our organization. And, I really believe if my grandfather were still around, he’d be more excited than ever about our business!”
