Buechel Stone Opens New Indiana Warehouse

CHILTON, Wis. – Buechel Stone Corp. recently opened a new distribution warehouse in Hammond, Ind.

The 22,000 ft² facility is less than three miles from Interstate 94, and only a half-mile east of the Illinois-Indiana border at the northwest tip of the Hoosier State.

The warehouse will work in conjunction with the company’s Rolling Rockstar Transit to speed deliveries to Midwest U.S. customers.

The new facility also allows for quicker handling of stone from other parts of the United States, particularly from North Carolina. Distributing the material from Hammond, on Chicago’s outskirts, can cut a day or more off transit time than having the stone go through Buechel’s headquarters warehouse in Wisconsin.

The warehouse is also very close to the rail hubs that ship intermodal across the country. This will allow customers utilizing container shipping to more easily request blended loads of material from all our locations.

The warehouse is located at 625 Conkey St. in Hammond.
